Terry Munson, Photographer

I am an amateur photographer.  I take pictures because I love to look through my lens and capture the beauty I see.

My photography experience really began in about 1990, when I rescued our much neglected Nikon FG from the back of a closet, where it had been stashed for about fifteen years.  I contacted a local camera shop and inquired about cleaning the camera and having it serviced before using it.  It was suggested to me to just install fresh batteries, shoot a roll of film and see what I got.

It worked fine.

So now, I take photos for the sheer joy of it.  I experiment and never know what I'm going to see in my images.  Sometimes, they're not so good.  But other times, I am amazed at how my camera can capture the beauty of a rose petal or a glistening  drop of water on a leaf.

I did take a photography class once. At the end of the sessions, someone asked the instructor this question - "If you could give us only one piece of advice on taking pictures, what would it be?"

the answer was "Shoot film."

So, that's what I do.  Enjoy!
